All the while, someone hurriedly comes to greet Tyr though she doesn't know him. But someone's excited, anyway, and Ion hasn't taken care to make sure to keep her elsewhere. He doesn't like the idea of keeping anyone up in a room or tied down, to begin with. And maybe her barking isn't the easiest to ignore, anyway.]
[ That wasn't what Tyr expected. He blinks down at the tiny, bouncing ball of fur running towards him and barking all the time. He looks to Ion back down to the dog putting her paws on her leg.
He. Leans over to pat her head uncertainly... ]
I didn't know you got a dog...
[ Okay, shuffling inside past the puppy so he can close the door. ]
[He reaches out to pick the puppy up and...struggles...and kind of gives her a firm look. That sort of dies.]
We don't jump on people.
[Ion steps away and sets the puppy back down on the floor after Tyr gets the door closed. A bit of a yip yip follows before the puppy scurries out into the living room.]
[ Tyr wonders if the dog actually understood that order. He doesn't look totally comfortable with the dog, but Ion did say she was for his birthday, so...is it Tyr's dog?
Did Ion get him a little dog?
With a tail that curls over her back?
Tyr would be so moved really happy if he hadn't come over for less grim reasons. He watches the puppy run off before looking up at Ion again with a nod. ]
That's right... Do you want want to go to your room to talk about it?
[She probably didn't. For now, she's preoccupied with staring at something in the kitchen from the living room. Ion leaves her to that for now as he gives Tyr a nod and begins to move to his room.]
[And the bag? But Ion merely nods. He lets Tyr step into his room first before he follows up behind him and closes the door. Ion pulls his phone out from his pocket to look at the message once again.]
[Ion steps away from the door to move over to his desk. He's thinking and yet it's difficult to process the same thing so many times and pull something new out of it. His phone is set on his desk and he stares hard at it for a moment before he brings himself to look at Tyr again.]
How dare he use innocent lives to get a point across and yet act as though it means nothing.
[ Tyr doesn't think he's ever seen Ion angry before. Albeit, they've only known each other several months now, and this is the first truly awful thing that's happened, but his anger still makes Tyr stare at him.
A few seconds later, though, his own expression turns hard as he lets some of his guard down. ]
I don't think he sees any of us as actual people. Everything that's happened - coming here, being sent to the islands, this - it all just shows how little he thinks of us...
[ He follows Ion over to his desk and sets his bag there with Ion's before he pulls out a folder. ]
I've been thinking about the communications he gives us... In every one, there's some order, request, or suggestion.
[He says this more to himself. His face relaxes some as being angry isn't going to get him anywhere. And maybe the other's own expression with staring at him is enough to draw back. He needs to think as what Tyr is saying is right. The Lessor is always asking something of the residents.]
[He leans over slightly to get a look of the other's work. He has only seen Tyr's handwriting one time a few months previous. Ion straightens and glances over his shoulder.]
[He frowns at that before moving onto the next thing. Everyone has done extremely well this far. Consider me proud. Here are the rules. Of course, rules.]

Ion...
Can I come in?

Were you on your way to the colosseum?
[He barely gestures to Tyr's gear.]
no subject
It's not that... I... I don't have any magical abilities, so I'd rather carry my staff with me...
no subject
It's all a game to him.
no subject
Yeah... There's no question that he completely condones all of this...
[ The landlord is just playing with them. ]

no subject
It's more important to focus their energy on something productive, though. ]
A record.
[ He opens it up to show various documents, some typed, some written in Tyr's own handwriting. ]
I collected everything the landlord has communicated since I got here... I thought we'd be able to figure something out from them.
no subject
Here, it may be easier for us if we sat-
[Though he stops himself.]
...on the floor.
no subject
[ On the floor? ]
...All right.
[ It's not the most comfortable place, but maybe sitting on the bed would be too comfortable.
Especially since it looks like he pushed this bed together with his "brother's".
Whatever floats your boat, Ion.
Tyr goes ahead and sits on the floor with his legs folded and the documents on his lap. ]
Do you want to start from the beginning or from the most recent events?
no subject
I think it may be a good review if we start from the beginning.
no subject
Got it. In that case...
[ He spreads them out in front of them so the earlier documents are closer to Ion. It starts with the note that came with the event Ion missed. ]

My gift to you requires a little work. Re-gift all these roses and you'll receive a little something from me. A familiar something.
He glances up at the other-]
Did you give away all of your roses?
no subject
Yes...though I didn't get anything in return from the landlord.
